eCommerce Business Analyst - Watford, Liverpool(£300-£350/day)

Salmon is a successful professional services firm specialising in the delivery of technology-based business solutions to predominantly the Retail, Insurance and Finance sectors. We are currently seeking an additional Senior Business Analyst for our eCommerce team. You will be working as part of an integrated client/Salmon team in a highly interactive environment. You will be a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the business needs of our client are fully understood and met by the proposed solution. Duties and Responsibilities The scope of the business analyst role includes the following: •Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with customers •Requirement elicitation through workshops and interviews •Functional specification (including interface specifications and site navigation mock-ups). These may take the form of traditional Functional Requirements specifications or UML models. •Preparing budgetary and fixed price estimates •Change request management In addition, you may be asked to get involved with: •Presales activities (presentations and demonstrations) •Liaising with partner and supplier organisations •Test planning and UAT support •Internal consulting on other projects Experience Requirements You will already have a range of skills from a related IT or business background, with the creativity and enthusiasm to deliver in a challenging environment. Your skills include: •A minimum of 5 years experience as a business analyst •Ability to build relationships with senior client and partner personnel •Experience of UML, SSADM or other formal analysis techniques •Good interpersonal and communication skills •Strong oral and written presentation skills •Exposure to Retail and/or eCommerce •Ability to manage own time and activities •Comfortable working unsupervised at Salmon offices and on client sites •Exposure to both waterfall and iterative software development approaches Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: •Agile approaches •Business intelligence •User interaction design •Familiarisation with full project lifecycle •Delivering Presentations •Experience of the Rational Tool set or Enterprise Architect Please note travel throughout the UK is an integral part of the job and you will be expected to travel to and work on customer sites as required. Therefore you must be able to drive and be happy to commute or work away from home during the week if the client site is not a commutable distance.
